Reader Question: Do condoms have an expiration date?

When are condoms no longer okay to use? Is there an expiration date?

A good rule of thumb is 3 years for the condoms that include spermicide, and 5 years for the condoms that do not include spermicide. After 3 years (spermicide) or 5 years (no spermicide), they are no longer effective. Get rid of ‘em and restock your collection!
